A letter from Ms. O’Brien-Weaver

Dear Families,

My name is Kelly O’Brien and I am the school counselor at Weatherbee. I’m thrilled to be part of such an energetic and student-focused team here at Weatherbee School.

I grew up and went to school in the RSU 22 system and I’m a graduate of Hampden Academy. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada in 2005 and a Master’s Degree from The University of Maine in 2013. I taught for eight years before coming to Weatherbee School to be a School Counselor in 2013. I earned a certificate of advanced study in School Counseling in 2015.

As a School Counselor, my responsibility is to promote academic, personal and social success for all students. As part of my responsibilities, I’ll be meeting with classrooms biweekly to teach core curriculum, as well as meeting with individuals and small groups. I look forward to supporting students, staff, and families during the upcoming year.

Any student can request to meet with me, or they can be referred by a teacher, staff member or parent. If you have concerns about your child, please reach out to me. I’m here to help students reach their personal, social and academic goals and to support teachers, parents and families. You can reach me at [email protected] or by calling the school at 207.862.3254. I look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Warmly,

Kelly M. O’Brien M.Ed, C.A.S
